Purple Haze Parachute

The Parachute Purple Haze is the original style of this pattern, combining a purple dubbed body with a white post and grizzly parachute hackle to imitate mayflies in the dun stage, often during PMD or BWO hatches.

History:
The parachute form is key to the Purple Haze’s success. Developed by Andy Carlson of Bitterroot Valley, Montana, the pattern’s low-riding, ultra-visible design quickly gained a cult following in the Rockies and beyond. It continues to outfish more traditional mayfly dries in many conditions.
