Mayfly, Cream

The Cream Mayfly represents pale-colored mayflies like Pale Morning Duns (PMDs), Pale Evening Duns, or Sulphurs. The cream or ivory body gives it excellent match-the-hatch utility in summer hatches.

History:

Cream-bodied dry flies have long been a staple in both the East and West, especially when matching light-colored duns. It’s often fished in the evening on slower water and dates back to some of the earliest Pale Evening Dun imitations.
