Imitates the Green Drake mayfly nymph (Drunella grandis), a large, slow-developing nymph found in cold, clean water.
History:
Green Drake hatches are some of the most anticipated in North America. Non-beadhead versions are traditionally fished upstream in the weeks leading up to the hatch, when trout are keyed on the larger nymphs. Usually tied in sizes 8–10, these flies are ideal for swing-and-drift presentations.
