Cahill, Dark

The Dark Cahill imitates darker-bodied mayflies, such as March Browns or early-season duns. Its reddish-brown body and upright wings suggest natural coloration of mayflies hatching in spring or early summer.

History:
Named after Dan Cahill of New York in the early 1900s, the Cahill series became foundational in American dry fly design. The dark version extends the pattern's usefulness to earlier or murkier water conditions.
