Blue Dun Wet

Suggests the emerging or drowned stage of the Blue Dun mayfly (Baetis), or other small grayish insects.

History: Originating in early English and Scottish angling traditions (1700s–1800s), the Blue Dun became a staple pattern in both wet and dry forms. The wet version was commonly fished on a swung cast during Baetis hatches.
