Beadhead Pheasant Tail Euro

One of the best imitations of Baetis (blue-wing olive) mayfly nymphs. It also resembles a wide range of small, slender aquatic insects. Mayfly nymphs, particularly BWO—but tied slimmer with a tungsten bead and sometimes no tail or legs for quicker sink and tighter-line contact.

History:
Adapted for Czech and Euro nymphing styles, this version emphasizes sink rate and strike detection. Often used as a point fly in tandem rigs, especially on pressured or deep rivers.
