Beadhead Hellgrammite

Imitates the larval form of the Dobsonfly, a large aquatic insect found in warmer, rocky streams. Trout and smallmouth bass prey on these large, menacing nymphs.

History:
Hellgrammites are native to North America and are most commonly fished in larger rivers. Beadheads helped get these heavy flies down quickly in deep, fast-moving runs. Often tied large (sizes 4–8).
