Babine Chartreuse

An attractor fly used for steelhead and salmon in the Babine River system, designed for visibility in tannin-stained or fast-moving water. The chartreuse color can mimic smolt flash or simply irritate territorial fish.

History:
Named for British Columbia’s Babine River, famous for trophy steelhead. Developed by West Coast tiers who experimented with chartreuse as a high-contrast color for cloudy or deep water.
