Adams Irresistable

The Adams Irresistible is a buoyant dry fly pattern designed to imitate a range of adult mayflies, especially in choppy or fast-moving water. Like the traditional Adams, it has a grayish body and grizzly hackle that resemble mayfly duns, but its deer hair body adds extra flotation, allowing it to ride high on the surface. The Adams Irresistible is a hybrid of the classic Adams fly and the Irresistible series—flies known for their spun and clipped deer hair bodies, originally developed in the 1930s. The Irresistible style was pioneered by Joe Messinger of West Virginia. Combining the visual effectiveness of the Adams with the buoyancy of the Irresistible body, the Adams Irresistible became a go-to fly for anglers needing a durable, high-floating dry fly that still mimics delicate mayflies. It remains a popular choice on turbulent streams and rivers.
